The open water swim competition will take place on 16th May 2020, on Saturday in the morning.

As a part of the Challenge–Bled weekend, on Saturday 16 May, a Morning swim will take place. The start of the swim for all the categories will be at 8:00 am in Velika Zaka. Competitors of all the categories will swim same distance of 1,500m. They will swim pass the famous Bled Island with the church, towards Bled Castle to the turn–point and back to Velika Zaka. Swimming in the crystal clear water, in the heart of Julian Alps will be an unforgettable experience. Wetsuits will be allowed. All competitors will receive a T–shirt, while every participant that crosses the finish line will be presented a drink and a souvenir medal on completion of the race. The top three finishers will receive medals. The Awarding ceremony will be held in Velika Zaka at 10:00 am.

Description of the race course:

The start of swimming will take place at the Velika Zaka. Rowing finish area and athletes will swim  around the fameous Bled island with the church. Swimming in drinkable, crystal-clear waters with a temperature between 18 and 20 degrees Celsius will definitely be an excellent warm up for a dynamic bicycle part from Bled Lake to the next gem of Slovenian tourism, Bohinj Lake and then through the centuries-old forests of the Triglav National Park on Pokljuka plateau to the World cup Biathlon Center.

From Pokljuka bikers will ride down the descent to the village of Gorje and then turn to the Bled rowing center Mala Zaka. The cycling course offers around 1100 altitude meters, with beautifull views to the Julian Alps. The running track is completely routed along the coast of Lake Bled, in three circles. Nice relaxed with an extraordinary backdrop of the mountains, the castle and the Bled island with the church.
